Name:Michael

Michael has been teaching in China for more than 25 years, and he has taught at high schools and universities around Shanghai. He speciality is business English but he can teach all types of business courses from marketing to finance.

The teaching style could be described as interactive with an emphasis on students learning by doing. Lectures are boring so he prefers to introduce many business-related stories for students to practice the theories I teach through role-play. Additionally, I encourage students to create and write their own business-situated stories and I will offer to correct their grammar. I allow students to borrow my DVDs to help them learn key business concepts: Educational videos are useful but I refuse to use valuable class time to show a DVD. Lastly, I stay in contact with my students long after course completion and offer any help I can to aid them with their studies or job.

Name:Naphtali

Teaching Experience
After tutoring in the United States, teaching in China was a much greater challenge. Naphtali started in the outskirts of Beijing in a middle school there, and then moved on to private day-schools and finally training centers like Capital. Reaching students across the culture gap is difficult but especially rewarding. He can name offhand several students who have made him feel that what he is doing here in China is really worthwhile and rewarding.

Teaching Future
One of the greatest aspects of teaching is meeting new people and learning from them. Naphtali has considered writing a book, that way he would be able to go on teaching outside of the classroom!

Working in Capital
Capital is one of the more professional training centers he has had the pleasure of working for. Capital English Training Centre really seem to value its teachers and students and treat everyone with respect. Everyone in the office is so nice, almost like one big family!

Name:Illya Borreson

Illya Borreson is a Canadian. This is his second time living and working in China. Four years ago, he taught English as a second language. His interests have also taking him to India where he traveled and taught ESL to Tibetan monks.

Illya like to incorporate mixed media into his classroom. He use video, music and art to encourage open discussions on popular culture, current events and the interests of his students. Illya promote an interactive classroom in which his students are encouraged to speak as well as write. The stimulation fostered by the use of these tools creates a proactive learning environment in which students can practice their oral English. He enjoy interacting with all of my students. He always look forward to closing the gap that language barriers can bring to a community. Capital English has a remarkable way of supporting this ideal and his experience with this company has been very rewarding.

Name:Yesi

Yesi an experienced EFL teacher with five years of teaching experience. Been teaching in China for two and a half years. Experienced in teaching:

A) Kids: Kindergarten and Primary school pupils.
B) Young learners: Middle and High school students.
C) Advanced Learners: University students and Adults.
He has been able to handle students from all levels of English classes.
Thus he has the rich experience needed for any age group or level.
He loves to undertake another one year of teaching in Shanghai. Thus he can assure his students he’ll be at their service for the next one year.

Name:Oscar

Oscar Belliveau teaches for Capital English. He has been a teacher all his life and has taught in many areas of the USA and Canada. He has been in China for a year and he has come to enjoy his work of being a native speaker teaching English to the Chinese people.

His specialty is Oral English as used in every day life and it gives him great pleasure to stimulate the students into using English to express themselves to the best of their abilities. He endeavor to help them use English in discussion ranging from philosophy, business, sports, work and whatever other topics they so choose to discuss.

His life experiences and training has helped him understand that each student is unique and must be taught on the basis of their needs and desires. It makes it more of a challenge to try and tailor his teaching to their needs but the end result is that he will give each student the help that they need.

Oscar also strives to make the students use their imagination and creative selves to expand the use of language as a tool to further their education and abilities to communicate what they want. In the end, students that can creatively communicate will increase their chance of success and feeling of satisfaction will grow.

Above all learning English must be fun and exciting.

Name:Scott

SCOTT HERVEY FOERSTER MD MPH Dr. Scott has taught in a variety of disciplines since 1980 and has traveled extensively in Europe, The Middle East, Asia and in North America. He brings a wealth of information to his classes and teaches in a dynamic style. His students learn "how to learn" and to approach a subject and master it quickly. Dr. Scott is fluent in Hungarian, French, and speaks some German, Latin, Farsi, Sanskrit and is learning Chinese, ergo, he is in a unique position of understanding the quagmire that perplexes the language student. Cutting through to the root of the problem, he brings a myriad of styles and techniques to his classroom. Speaking with a neutral American accent He has delighted his students (from Kindergarten to Post Graduate Students) with his ability entertain and teach at the same time. As the author of several books he continues to instruct even when not present.

Name:Wendy 姜韫宁

毕业于复旦大学英语系,从事了6年的英语培训工作,姜老师每次看到一批批地学生在她的教学下,攻克了英语语言关或者英语学习有了长足的进步,都有一种难以言表的自豪感和幸福感。

Name:Sylvia 廖苑

毕业于上海外国语大学,研究生。

廖老师性格比较外向开朗,上课也不会太拘束,比较倾向于和学生互动,鼓励学生多问多说,将每节课新学的知识点当场应用,加深记忆。同时,在讲授英语语言知识时,也会穿插一些相关的生活常识,引导学生活学活用,增加学习兴趣。

“教学相长”在廖老师身上具有非常的实践意义,担任教师这么长时间以来,她从学生身上得到很多启发,这些使在每一次的上课中都能有所突破。当站上讲台,她面对学生时,全心地投入到与学生的共同学习中,她对热爱的教学事业的感想是“我从没想过小小一方讲台会给我带来这么多惊喜,我越来越享受其中的苦与乐,也享受与学生的交流。”



Name:徐杨

徐杨老师是凯育年轻的教师骨干,多年在凯育从事剑桥英语口语的教学。有着留学背景的徐老师上课幽默、风趣,总能与学生打成一片。同学们不懂的单词或句子,徐老师常常用自己在国外的亲身体验为学生们讲解,并且引来同学们的阵阵笑声。

徐老师喜欢以辩论的形式让同学们分为两组,展开一个英语话题的讨论。在讨论的过程中,同学们将会用到以往学过的词汇及句型,这样既巩固了学过的知识,又通过这个环节使同学们学习英语的积极性完全被调动了起来,英语的学习不再仅仅是为了考试,而是大家沟通的一种方式。除了口语的教学。
